NUTRITIONAL DRENCHES – LIQUID NUTRITIONAL & INSECT APPLICATIONS

This service includes fertilization and insect and disease control for your ornamental landscape. We are well versed in nutritional needs, deficiencies, insect problems, and identifying diseases and their appropriate treatment. Our fertilizer programs are well researched. We have also developed our own blends appropriate for California soils. We often supplement our fertilizers with chelated micro nutritional sprays or drenches for specific deficiencies. New insects not previously encountered are appearing, and some of the more common insects are showing resistance to normal treatments. Consequently, constant research and product trials are ongoing. 

 

Programs include: 

– Fertilization: insect and disease control for ornamentals. 

  

– Fertilizer: Even custom blends do not always allow for all amounts of macro and micro elements for the complete nutritional needs of trees and shrubs. Therefore, we often supplement our fertilizers with a chelated minor element mix to ensure proper nutritional feeding. Palms require additional manganese and potassium for health and appearance. Ixoras and certain Jasmine varieties will usually require additional iron and manganese for that deep green appearance. 
With restricted irrigation, liquid fertilizers are found to be more effective as the nutrients are more readily available to the root system and do not need to be dissolved by rain or irrigation. Wetting agents are also employed to assist in better distribution and uptake. 

 

Insect control is done on an as needed basis, which is an environmentally sound practice. We firmly belive in” integrated pest management” which incorporates inspection, sound cultural practices, and treatment when necessary. 
A thorough inspection of the property is made, and the required treatment is determined on each service. We do not believe in excessive pesticides when it is not required. If a problem has been reoccurring, we may choose to do preventive applications.

These diseases usually require multiple applications on 10-to-14-day intervals. We maintain a variety of products best suited for each disease.
